Position: Director of Electrical Engineering
It is expected that this professional will collaborate with Acoustic Engineering and Production Engineering as well as with Production Teams to create new and modified products that can be mass-produced.
Employment with Massa Product Corporation may require an individual to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. Cleared individuals must be U.S. Citizens, pass a background check successfully, and consent to a non-disclosure agreement.
For this position, a TS Clearance is preferred.
We are seeking an experienced, high-functioning Electrical Engineer skilled in analog /digital circuit design and product documentation. In this position, you will develop sonar and industrial ultrasonic products. You will be part of a small, fast-paced, hands-on engineering team developing products used in a wide variety of uses. In our small company environment, your expertise, innovation, and contributions will count.
We are at an exciting threshold in engineering, expanding product capabilities in measurement and communications, and expanding the team to make it happen.
If you are a driven Electrical Engineer with 7 or more years of development experience, Massa is the place for you!
RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to:
- Design hardware and software/firmware to support development programs, and also manage the Electrical Engineering Department and the work efforts of the electrical hardware and software/firmware engineers and technicians
- The activities of the Electrical Engineering Department include, but are not limited to:
- Design hardware and software/firmware to support development programs
- Develop test hardware and software to support validation testing of ultrasonic and acoustic products and systems. Products will involve interfacing microprocessors, digital interfaces and analog designs with acoustic sensors
- Develop analog and digital circuits using CAD tools for schematic design and PCB layout
- Develop product test specifications and internal test equipment for PCB and final system tests
- Provide detailed product design information to documentation department and assist in developing complete technical data packages
- Assist production department with transfer of new products to production
- Support sales department with technical applications and interface as required with customers
- Serve on product teams as technical contact for the company in developing proprietary electroacoustic systems for special customers
- Other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or related fields
- 7+ years of experience with excellent working knowledge of microprocessor-based, mixed signal circuit design under cost, and resource constraints
- Well-versed in state-of-the-art semiconductor technologies, components, and vendors
- Proven ability to self-manage, tenacious problem-solver, and multitask on more than one project at a time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, communicate technical information both inside and outside the company
- Passion for advancing the state-of-the-art applied to industrial electronics products and manufacturing processes
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years' experience developing product architecture, embedded mixed signal circuitry, schematic capture, circuit analysis, and PCB layout.
- Low-level analog, filter, signal processing, and microcontroller circuit design for battery-powered devices
- Power amplifier/transducer drive circuits, boost converters for radio power
- Detailed knowledge of 4-20 mA and RS-485 device interface circuits
- Experience with prototyping, board bring-up, debugging, design validation, production test, and manufacturing support
- Document product and circuit specifications. Initiate new parts drawings, product drawing package, production process sheets, and QC test plans
- Capability in estimating product cost, development time, and support needs
Desired Pluses
- Experience managing a department a plus
- Familiar with Sonar and Acoustics
- Familiar with product certifications of CE, UL, Intrinsic safety, FCC
- Working knowledge and ability in C/C++ and development tools
- Experience with FPGA design, VHDL code, simulation, tools
